-
0:00–0:50 from the start
Porta Torre and San Fedele
Enter the old town through Porta Torre and walk to Piazza San Fedele. A stop by the basilica and in the nearby lanes gives the visit a more intimate beginning before you reach the open squares towards the lake.
-
0:50–1:40 from the start
Cathedral, Broletto and Piazza Cavour
Continue to the Cathedral and the Broletto, then walk down to Piazza Cavour. You can devote part of this time to a brief Cathedral visit, subject to visitor access and services.
-
1:40–2:25 from the start
Lakefront and Life Electric
Follow Lungolago Mafalda di Savoia and walk along the breakwater to Life Electric. The sculpture and the view back towards the city offer two different perspectives in one stop. Return to shore and continue along the western bank.
-
2:25–3:00 from the start
Volta Temple and the Sinigaglia area
Pass the Volta Temple, viewed from outside. If you follow Como 1907, you can add a brief exterior detour to the stadium at Viale Giuseppe Sinigaglia 5. On match days, use the permitted routes; stadium admission is not part of this itinerary.
-
3:00–3:45 from the start
Lino Gelpi promenade and Villa Olmo
Continue along the western shore and follow the Lino Gelpi promenade to Villa Olmo park. The lake remains the focus: take your time to look back at the city from this side and find a bench in the park.
-
3:45–5:00 from the start
The park and a lunch break
Spend this part of the day in the park and stop for lunch nearby. The villa is currently closed for restoration, while the park is open, so the itinerary covers the outdoor areas without entering the rooms.
-
5:00–6:00 from the start
Borgo Vico and return to the car park
Return towards the centre through Borgo Vico and make your way back to Viale Innocenzo XI 14. The final hour includes the walk and time for a short stop; at the end, your car is waiting in the same car park.
Before you set off
- This itinerary involves more walking than the 4-hour route. The 6 hours include a lunch break and the return to the car park.
- Villa Olmo is currently closed for restoration, while the park remains open. This stop covers the outdoor areas; check the City of Como’s updates before setting out.
- The Volta Temple is viewed from outside. On match days, routes and access around the stadium may be restricted.
One walk, one car park.
The route ends at Viale Innocenzo XI 14. Check the rates before setting out and keep the directions to the car park handy.
